Investing in the Future!
As we near the end of the financial year, many people are inclined to become more interested and concerned about their investments for the future. And indeed, Jesus himself had much to say about the way we invest into the future. In Matthew 6:19-20, Jesus said, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.”
As we come to this QB Week of prayer, can I suggest that there are perhaps three significant ways in which each of us can be making a significant and enduring investment into the future.
PRAY – Malyon Theological College has been facing a challenging season with a downturn in overall enrolments. (This is a pressure being felt right across the Christian higher education sector at this time). However, this means less students are being trained and equipped for future service and ministry and this is also placing us under considerable pressure. We invite you to join us in praying that the Lord would graciously intervene by providing us with a significant increase in enrolments in semester two this year. As we look to the future, we desperately need to see more and more men and women being trained for faithful gospel service. My personal prayer is that God would be pleased to bless us with a 30% increase in enrolments for second semester. I invite you to join me in this prayer.
SEND – We regularly hear mission agencies urging for people to respond to God’s call, to be sent! We are asking you and your churches to seriously consider whom God would have you send to Malyon Theological College to be trained and equipped for further service and ministry. I well remember the time when a more mature Christian tapped me on the shoulder and urged me to step out in faith to commence my journey of theological education and training. Would you be prepared to do the same for some in your own church? Tap them on the shoulder, encourage them and even assist them in making their application to study. Why not consider taking them on as an intern so they can begin to apply their studies to real-life ministry situations from the start.
GIVE – End of financial year is coming upon us at 30th June. Now is a great opportunity to contribute to the vital work that Malyon is doing and to make a donation via the Malyon Foundation. We remain committed to providing our students with the highest quality education possible. This is a fully tax-deductible fund. All donors will be emailed a tax receipt, provided you email the college info@malyon.edu.au with the details of your contribution. The bank details are as follows:
